The first of these cornerstones comprises the full-length fairytale ballets, many of which already saw the light of day in the nineteenth century. The Dutch National Ballet is the only company in Holland to present these classics.

The same applies to most of the internationally renowned highlights of twentieth-century ballet, which form the second cornerstone of the company’s repertoire. And finally, the third cornerstone comprises the numerous new creations produced by the Dutch National Ballet, made by young choreographers searching for new forms and challenges, whose work helps to develop the art of dance even further. The Dutch National Ballet is thus a museum and a laboratory at the same time.
