biography

After her first season with the Dutch National Ballet, Michele Jimenez (Las Vegas, United States) already received a prestigious ‘Zwaan’ award for Best Dance Achievement from the Dutch Association of Theatres and Concert Halls (VSCD). She trained in the Dominican Republic, where she moved when she was a child, and at the Washington Ballet School. Before coming to the Netherlands in 2006, she danced with Ballet Clásico Nacional de Santo Domingo and Washington Ballet. With the Dutch National Ballet, she was promoted to second soloist in 2008 and to principal a year later, when she also won the Alexandra Radius Prize.
