The Dutch National Ballet's new full-length production of Don Quichot has been created for the company by Alexei Ratmansky. The flamboyant leaps, dizzying pirouettes and crisp pointe work that are an itegral part of the ballet allow the dancers to show off their impressive technique. But the comic story - based on Cervantes' masterpiece - also demands good acting abilities. The roles of Don Quichot and Sancho Panza are performed by Peter de Jong and Karel de Rooij, who are a well-known theatrical double-act (Mini and Maxi) in the Netherlands.
