Stijn Schoonderwoerd, managing director of the Dutch National Ballet, will take up the position of executive director of Museum Volkenkunde in Leiden as of 1 June 2012. Schoonderwoerd has been managing director of the company and director of The Amsterdam Music Theatre since 2008.

He has also made a big contribution to setting up new cooperative ventures. We wish Stijn every success in his new job”.
On 1 August, Els van der Plas will take up the position of managing director of the new organisation resulting from the merger of the Dutch National Ballet, De Nederlandse Opera and The Amsterdam Music Theatre. In this organisation, Ted Brandsen has been appointed ballet director.
Truze Lodder, managing director of De Nederlandse Opera and chair of the management of The Amsterdam Music Theatre, will also be leaving the organisation on 1 October 2012. From this date, Truze Lodder will be taking early retirement. Truze’s departure coincides with her 25th anniversary with the organisation.
