new dancers season 2012-2013
Victoria Ananyan (2nd soloist) will re-join our company again after a year’s leave of absence (San Francisco Ballet).
Isaac Hernández (2nd soloist) from Mexico, first trained with his father, Hector Hernandez, followed by the Rock School for Dance Education in Philadelphia. In 2008 he joined San Francisco Ballet and was promoted to soloist in 2010. He has danced various roles in Romeo & Juliet, Coppelia, Onegin and in Nutcracker. His repertoire also includes lead roles in choreographies by Feredric Ashton, Alexei Ratmansky’ and Christopher Wheeldon.
He received the gold medal at the USA International Ballet Competition 2006, the bronze medal and special award from the Kirov Ballet at Moscow’s International Ballet Competition 2005 and the first place in the Cuba International Competition 2004. Recently he was named an Ambassador of Tourism for Mexico in the world.
Sae Hyun Kwon (corps de ballet) was born in Korea and received her education at the Korea National University of Arts and the Kirov Academy of Ballet. Her performance experience includes Swan Lake, The Sleeping Beauty, Don Quichotte and La Sylphide. Sae participated in several competitions and gala performances. In 2009 she was a semi finalist at the 6th Seoul International Dance Competition. Sae Hyun joined our company in April.
Qian Liu (corps de ballet) from China studied at the Liaoning Ballet Dance School in Liaoning. In 2006 she joined the Liaoning Ballet company and has danced various (soloist) roles in the classical repertoire such as Clara, The Sylph and Bride. Further she has participated in divers competitions including: Tao Li Cap Dance Competition 2006, Seoul Ballet Competition 2006 and 2011, Tokyo Ballet Competition 2008 and others and won silver and gold prizes.
Dario Elia (corps de ballet) from Italy received his education at La Scala Ballet School in Milan and The Royal Ballet School in London. After school he joined Zurcher Ballet and this last season he danced with La Scala Theatre in Italy. His performance experience includes: divers ballets by Heinz Spoerli, Balanchine, ‘Manon’ by Kenneth McMillan and ‘Giselle’ by Jules Perrot/Jean Coralli. He received several scholarships and a choreographic award by the NJL Foundation at the Royal Ballet School.
Miles Pertl (corps de ballet) trained at the John Cranko School, Pacific Northwest Ballet School and the International Ballet Theatre (SF Balletschool Summer intensives). He danced with Stuttgarter Ballet for 2 years. His repertoire includes: Swan Lake (John Cranko), Bolero (Maurice Bejart), Romeo & Juliet (Cranko), The Lady of the Camellias (Neumeier) and others. Miles was a grand prix winner at the Youth America Grand Prix semifinals and honorary grand prix winner at the finals in 2007. He has the American nationality and was born in Utah, USA.
Floor Eimers (adspirant), born of place Nijmegen, The Netherlands, studied at the Royal Conservatorium in The Hague. She has the Dutch Nationality.
Chanquito van Hoeve (adspirant) received his education at the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam. He is Dutch, born in Amsterdam.
Skyler Martin (adspirant) studied at the Orlando Ballet School, Rock School for Dance Education and The Royal Ballet School. He is American, born in Kentucky.
