Ted Brandsen, director of the Dutch National Ballet, is one of the four Metropolitan Guests at the EYE on the Future conference to be held at the EYE Film Institute, in Amsterdam, on Thursday 7 February. The theme of the conference is the ambitions of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area (MRA).
The ‘Amsterdam Metropolitan Area’ is an informal collaboration between local and provincial authorities in the North Wing of the Randstad agglomeration. During EYE on the Future, leading international speakers will present their vision for the future of the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area. Administrators, entrepreneurs and opinion leaders will enter into debate on the shared task of strengthening the international competitive position of the area.
Four Metropolitan Guests will be taking part in the conference. Following the format of the Dutch TV programme Zomergasten, Sofie van den Enk and Remco Daalder will interview guests from the cultural and creative sector Ted Brandsen, Tracy Metz, Eddy Terstall and Alex Bennett Grant about their vision for the Amsterdam Metropolitan Area.
The speakers will include Bertrand Delanoë, the Mayor of Paris, who will give the first MRA address. This will be followed by an introduction to the conference by the Dutch Minister of Infrastructure and the Environment, Melanie Schultz van Haegen. The conference will be hosted by Eberhard van der Laan, Mayor of Amsterdam.
