On Thursday 5 September, the Dutch National Ballet will be participating in the benefit performance Free to Move in the Lucent Danstheater, The Hague. Through this new initiative, the Princess Beatrix Fund and Holland Dance, the producer of the evening, aim to raise awareness of muscular disorders in the Netherlands.
Dancing symbolises the ultimate freedom of movement. Healthy muscles form the basis for this freedom, which is something that patients with muscular disorders cannot count on. The participating dance companies are therefore getting together to collect money for research into cures for these diseases. Our dream is to rid the world of muscular disease.
Especially for this evening, Qian Liu and Young Gyu Choi will be dancing the pas de deux from Alexei Ratmansky’s production of Don Quichotte. There are also contributions from leading dance companies like Nederlands Dans Theater, Introdans and Conny Janssen Danst, dancer Tim Persent and Stichting Aight (in collaboration with DWRS Producties).
Come and enjoy the evening and support the Princess Beatrix Fund with the purchase of your ticket!
