This month, star principal Mathias Heymann from the Opéra National de Paris will be appearing for the first time on a Dutch stage. Heymann will be performing at the Dutch National Ballet’s Gala 2013, in Amsterdam.
Heymann will be dancing the Grand Pas Classique, choreographed by Victor Gsovsky. Along with Marijn Rademaker, principal with Stuttgarter Ballett, the dancer from Paris is one of the guest stars appearing at the Gala.
Mathias Heymann trained at the ballet school of the Paris Opera. In 2009, he was promoted to principal of the Opéra National de Paris. Last year, he received the prestigious Benois de la Danse award, for best dancer.

The Gala in The Amsterdam Music Theatre, on Saturday 7 September, forms the opening of the new ballet season. The Dutch National Ballet will be dancing a unique evening of highlights of the company’s varied ballet repertoire.
